Gelato Gelato

Gelato Gelato - A Piece of Italy on the Surf Coast

Monday, November 13, 2017

Bringing a little piece of Italy to the Surf Coast and beyond, Gelato Gelato opened in Lorne in November 2016 and has already proven to be a crowd favourite.

“We have received fantastic feedback from our customers, who have all been highly complementary about the quality of the product and the value the business has brought to Lorne,” said Jo Stevens, who owns the business alongside Stephanie Lewis.

Each flavour is created by hand on the premises each day, sourcing the very best ingredients available in their raw and most natural form. No colourings, artificial flavourings or preservatives to be seen!

The flavour combinations are enough to tantalise any tastebud, with hand-roasted hazelnuts, signature salted caramel, awesome apple pie and even caramelized figs going into the gelato.

“We use the very best milk, cream, fruit, nuts and other amazing ingredients in their raw and most natural form and make everything from scratch,” said Jo.

“We support local businesses and growers, buy product locally wherever possible and grow our own lemons, grapefruits, plums, quinces, rhubarb, figs and eggs.”

Gelato Gelato took home Best Gelato at the 2017 Australian Food Awards for their Maple Walnut Gelato, along with an incredible haul of gold and silver medals.

Gelato Gelato products are currently also available at Lorne Foodworks, Aireys Inlet General Store, Harveys of Highton, The Fresh Food Merchant and Boccaccios SUPA IGA in Balwyn.

It’s the perfect excuse for a trip to Lorne!
