For the brewers at Kereru Brewing Company, “Taste New Zealand” isn’t just a catch phrase, it’s a philosophy! Located just north of Wellington in Upper Hutt, this family owned award-winning craft brewery looks to showcase the flavours of New Zealand through brewing exclusively with New Zealand grown ingredients.

“Our beers are brewed exclusively with New Zealand grown malt and hops. We use indigenous ingredients like karengo (a local seaweed), pohutukawa honey, feijoa, and others” says Chris Mills brewer and owner of Kereru Brewery.

“We are incredibly passionate about making really good beer. We have a delicious range of beers, and we produce a variety of seasonal and specialty beers throughout the year.”

This focus on flavour and quality ingredients has paid dividends for the Kereru team, taking home 18 medals in the 2018 Australian International Beer Awards, including Champion Small International Brewery.

“The Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria (RASV) AIBA awards are world recognised and any medals received are a huge recognition of our achievements and efforts. This offers confidence to our buyers that they are getting a great product, and is great for our team to see that they can be proud of their work.”
