Samuel Adams Kosmic Mother Funk Grand Cru (Packaged)
Boston Beer Company, Massachusetts, USA

This one-of-a-kind Belgian ale is fermented with multiple micro-organisms found in the environment of the 150-year old Boston brewery. The unique yeasts impart layers of spicy, fruity and bright tart notes to the beer. Aged in Hungarian oak tuns, the porous character of the wood allows air to slowly seep in during aging, creating micro-oxidation that smoothes any harsh flavours.

Grand Cru often denotes a vintage of the highest quality or ‘the best of the best’. This release has been aging in the Barrel Room for just over a year. Kosmic Mother Funk is the soul of the Barrel Room Collection, blended to varying degrees creating a distinct and complex character.

Pirate Life Brewing
Pirate Life Brewing, South Australia

Founded by Jack Cameron and Red Proudfoot, the pair met while working apprenticeships at MoonDog in Scotland.

Head brewer Jack Cameron explains that the Pirate Life name and brand is less about eye-patches and cutlasses and more a state of mind. “We want to make beer with bravado and unbridled passion,” he said. “Pirate Life means carefree and relaxed but uncompromising about quality and flavour.

Their beers are sold in 355ml and 500ml cans, a point of difference and far from a gimmick. Their experience informed them that this keeps the beer fresher, and of course it’s better for the environment.
