The fruit for this Pinot Noir was hand harvested predominantly from the Derwent Valley, East Coast and Coal River Valley regions in Tasmania. Intense aromas of raspberry precede subtle spice so typical of Tasmanian Pinot Noir.

The Red Wines of Provenance Trophy is awarded to three vintages of the same wine, within a ten year period, awarding consistency of quality and excellence.

The Castagna Vineyard (who have won this award two years running) is situated at an altitude of 500 metres, five-and-a-half kilometres outside the beautiful town of Beechworth in Northeast Victoria, high in the foothills of the Australian Alps.

Their soil consists mainly of decomposed granitic-loam on a base of clay. The climate is distinctly Mediterranean with hot days and cool nights during the important part of the growing season. The land is farmed biodynamically; using Rudolf Steiner’s biodynamic principles, as they believe it is the best way to achieve optimum fruit quality that best expresses its terroir.

When Maidenii was conceived, there was no Australian Vermouth on the market. Their Vermouth uses fresh wine to make a vibrant product distinct from others and using unique Australian botanicals. Over the last few years, Maidenii has grown from a boutique product available to the lucky patrons at select bars into an awarded and sought after premium spirit distributed both in the new world and the old.
